I decided to upgrade my HyperCube with LED lighting, but I wanted it to be tidy and unobtrusive. The aluminum extrusion I selected for the LED Strip included a diffuser, end caps, and mounting brackets. Although the end caps could have been used on their own, they wouldn't work well with the 2020 extrusion of my printer. So, I opted to combine them with mounting brackets. I designed a custom bracket that holds the aluminum extrusion snugly inside the top frame without interfering with the XY movement. This setup illuminates three sides. These adaptable brackets can be used with any 2020 extrusion and are compatible with various printer sizes by simply cutting the aluminum extrusion to fit your specific needs. Don't forget to print the brackets with supports, as they feature overhangs that need additional support during printing. You'll require two dual brackets and one each of a right-hand (RH) and left-hand (LH) bracket. Once you've applied the LED strip to the extrusions, connect the strips by soldering wires between them. To prevent damage or strain on the wires, I recommend hot gluing each connection in place. I connected my lights at the front two corners, then ran the wires down the right rear corner. Additionally, I added a dimmer to my setup for greater control over the lighting.
