2020 Extrusion Top Mounted Spool Holder
prusaprinters

Simple top mounted spool holder with filament guide for 2020 aluminium extrusion I designed to use with my CR10 and a Bondtech BMG clone.

In the foto you'll see the 25mm shaft but I've added a 35mm one as well if you want to have a bit more clearance. The shaft has a printed M8 thread built in as well as the knob. For me it worked right of the bed with a 0.2mm layer height.

You'll also need a 135mm or longer M8 threaded rod and a piece of PTFE tube for the filament guide. To mount the spool holder to the frame I took four M5x12 socket head cap screws and sliding nuts. An additional two of each is needed for the filament guide.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Creality

Printer:

CR-10

Rafts:

No

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

0.2

Infill:

20%

Filament: KD Essentials PLA Blue

Notes:

You'll only need support at the slot for the M8 threaded rod. I used modifier blocks in Cura to enable support only for these areas. But results may vary depending on your cooling solution.

Category: 3D Printer Parts
