2020 Extrusion Equipment Handle
prusaprinters

I made this handle to make it easier to pickup my HyperCube Printer (CoreXY). The handle is narrower than commercial units that look similar so it fits on 2020 aluminum extrusions. The two mounting holes allow 5 mm screws and a 2020 fastener to attach the handle to the printer. This handle can also be used as a general purpose handle for any equipment. The strength of this handle is greatly dependent on your printing material and parameters so be careful picking your parameters so that your handle can lift your object.

For my 3D printer I printed the handle in ABS which I suggest for strength and resistance to cracks. I printed the handle with 70% infill to make sure that it is very solid. You must use supports for the screw pockets.

Printed in ABS at 235C

BuildTak Bed at 80C

0.1mm layers

70% infill

Supports for screw cavity are a must

Use at you own risk.

Print Settings

Printer:

HyperCube

Rafts:

No

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

0.1mm

Infill:

70% or more

Notes:

Printed in ABS at 235C
BuildTak Bed at 80C
0.1mm layers

70% infill

Supports for screw cavity are a must

Post-Printing

Remove supports and clean up.
