2020 Extrusion 45 degree Frame support (z-axis)
thingiverse
This is a 2020 extrusion 45 degree brace for a z-axis frame, allowing users to repurpose excess 2020 extrusion as a stabilizing element for the z-axis. In my printer (Flsun i3 plus), it has transformed the z-axis into a rock-solid component with no room for play whatsoever. To utilize this design, you will need to print two braces per assembly point of attachment. I employed m4 bolts and t-nuts, which require four pieces each for mounting purposes (eight pieces total). The onshape design is included for anyone who might be interested in remixing it. I took the time to filet every edge, resulting in smooth surfaces that are pleasing to the eye. While this may not be everyone's preference, it was mine. If you disagree, feel free to modify the design using onshape to suit your tastes. Once you become familiar with onshape, you'll discover how user-friendly it is for creating custom designs. I wish more creators would share their cad source files alongside their projects. Stls are excellent for printing purposes, but they can be less than ideal when attempting to remix a design.
