2020 Extruder Mount Vertical for Ender 5 with Filament Guide
thingiverse
I designed this extruder mount for my Ender 5 because it had to fit into an enclosure, making the original mounting unsuitable.\r\nThe images show the extruder mounted on the front of the printer but it could also be mounted on the back of the printer. As the extruder is mounted further up, the bowden tube can be shortened quite a bit. \r\nI reused the original spool holder and remounted it in a different position. Although the filament feeds straight into the extruder, I designed a filament guide to prevent the filament from rubbing against the input of my metal extruder and leaving behind filament dust.\r\nThe Extruder uses the original mounting plate, so it works with the original extruder and every other one that used the same mounting plate. \r\n\r\nIf you have improvement suggestions, let me know!\r\n\r\nBOM:\r\nM3 screws, nuts, and T-nuts are required. To fasten the screws, the allen key that came with the printer works fine. I heated the nuts up to press them into the plastic so they stay in place.
