You want to insert a nut into the slot of an existing project with fasteners at both ends? Easy! Just disassemble it or... I had to add a tiny component to my printer without compromising one end. You can't undo one end to slip in t-nuts, that's just inconvenient. Here's what works: use an M3 nut inside a plastic holder that rotates when tightened. Don't rely on this for structural integrity, use it for holding small items like LEDs or filament guides afterwards.
