2020_2040_Supports
thingiverse
Just a couple of simple 2020 or 2040 supports. I have a few designs in development that require attaching 2020 extruded aluminum to enclosure walls, so I needed to create some type of brackets for mounting them. I considered box-style or angled brackets, but I decided on a design that could be universal enough to work with both 2020 and 2040 and mount either to a base or a wall. This design will also allow me to get rid of the front and rear rails and use less extrusion when mounting my benbox style laser engraver to a wooden base. Two models are included, one is sturdy and took about five hours to print two at sixty percent infill, while the other version takes around three and a half hours to print two at sixty percent infill. The slimmer design is not optimized for wall mounting but is intended for attaching profiles to a base. EDIT: I managed to install them on my laser engraver in order to show an in-use picture. Before and after shots were added, along with L-brackets that I added to the frame shortly after building the engraver. I swapped out longer screws and mounted my new brackets using the L-bracket. This allowed me to remove the acrylic feet that were holding the engraver up. EDIT: A hanging bracket model was added to the download. The base sits flush, and a spacer is a separate piece to accommodate different sizes. Included spacer model is ten millimeters.
