Drawknife is a tool with a curved blade and wooden handles attached at each end via iron rings. The drawknife was used to remove shavings from wooden objects during processing or in the final finishing stage. This artefact is significant due to an inscription on its blade: HERENNI, which identifies the craftsman who made it. His workshop was located in Aquileia's Roman center. The tool's discovery likely proves trade relations between Dacians and Romans. It was found in a dwelling burned down during early 2nd-century AD Roman wars. A similar drawknife with an illegible inscription was discovered at Sarmizegetusa Regia's workshop on Terrace VIII.
