2019 Happy New Year Fun Glasses

2019 Happy New Year Fun Glasses

I'm excited to show you my latest 2019 creation, which is an evolution of my original 2016 New Year's Glasses that made a splash online in several 3D printing magazines and websites. The new version boasts the same rugged hinges as before, along with arms that are gentle on the nose and ears alike. What's more, I've included not one but two versions of the arms - standard length for most users and longer ones for those who prefer a bit more coverage. If you're thinking of adding some color flair to your glasses, I recommend printing them in white material first to create a solid base that will make any number or design pop. For my own prints, I used black PLA for the arms at 220 degrees Celsius with a 45-degree bed temperature. Meanwhile, the glasses themselves were printed with white PETG at a sizzling 345 degrees Celsius and a bed temperature of 100 degrees. To get everything looking its best, be sure to fill your printer to 10% capacity and take advantage of the supports already built into the STL file - no need for extra ones! Just remember to snip off those supports before attaching the arms. A dab of CA or gorilla glue will do the trick nicely to keep things in place. So why not ring in the new year with a smile on your face and some stylish New Year's Glasses perched on your nose? Happy printing, everyone!
