Apple Carplay dock for 2018+ Ford Fusion. I'm not exactly a master of meshmixer, so expect a workable model that's more functional than flawless - feel free to remix for non-commercial use. Challenges with the car environment are mainly related to material selection and annealing that material. Living in Ohio has its advantages when it comes to printing with PLA+, which holds up nicely and barely shrinks even after coming out of the oven at 225F. In hotter climates, you might want to consider using Nylon for a snug fitment. I suggest printing a stick or something to measure material shrink after annealing and scale accordingly before printing. If you only shrink by 1 or 2%, then there's no need to scale when printing. The model is scaled to fit snugly in the pocket, with the phone height set right at the bottom of the center stack. The dock slot is a bit loose to account for cases on phones, and it came from a remix source with an Otterbox on an iPhone 7+. I stretched it taller, rounded it off, and rotated it on the base to lay the phone back more as a result of stretching taller. Print with supports for the hollow cavity underneath for cord storage. Post-processing will involve drilling and tapping from the back for a #4 or #6 machine screw to help hold the charge cable in place. The authentic Apple cable fits snugly already, but a little RTV might work if you're not comfortable with securing a screw. There's definitely room for modeling touchup, especially on the key fob holder. I got to a point where it was useable and called it good before meshmixer drove me to drinking with repairing the cracks from Boolean operations.
