Damaged Concrete Barrier A weathered, rugged texture that evokes a sense of age and neglect, perfect for creating worn-down stone walls in your next Substance Designer project. This damaged concrete barrier is made up of several layers, each one worn down to a different extent, giving it a unique, three-dimensional appearance. The base layer is rough and uneven, with large chunks of concrete missing. On top of this lies a layer of smaller rocks and pebbles, which have been eroded away by the elements. The next layer up consists of finer gravel, which has been smoothed out by wind and water. Finally, there's a thin layer of dust and debris that coats everything, giving it a dull, faded look. To create this texture in Substance Designer, start by creating a new network and adding a Gradient Map node. Set the gradient to go from black at the top to white at the bottom, with a slight orange tint to give it a worn look. Next, add a Noise node and set it to generate a rough, rocky pattern. Use this noise map as the input for a Filter node, which will blur out some of the details while preserving others. Now, add another Gradient Map node on top of the first one, but this time set it to go from white at the top to black at the bottom. This will create a sense of depth and distance in your texture. Finally, add a Multiply node to combine all three layers together. To finish off the look, you can add some extra details such as cracks and crevices using a Brush node or a Noise node with a high frequency setting. You could also experiment with different color schemes or add some subtle noise patterns to give it even more character.
