I was searching Google for pictures of New Year's Glasses, looking for ideas to create my own 2016 New Year glasses. I found several concepts (which I posted in the pictures) and also came across a model that had apparently been inspired by some of the same older year glasses available commercially. I attempted printing it to see how it would work but encountered several issues such as fused hinges that didn't function properly and they also broke easily. The glasses were too small, like they were designed for children, and uncomfortable on my nose's skin due to the sharp edges of the numbers. I ultimately decided to start from scratch and create a new set that should work even with less-than-perfect materials and settings. I made the hinges rugged and the glasses easy on my nose's skin as well as on my ears. I also included two versions of the arms: standard length (most common) and longer ones. Thanks for the inspiration from previous ideas and happy New Year's Eve! If you want to paint the numbers in different colors, print the glasses in white material to have a good color base. I printed the arms with black PLA at 220 degrees and 45 degrees bed. The Glasses themselves I printed them with white PETG at 345 degrees and 100 degrees bed. Fill is 10% and no need for supports because they are already in the uploaded STL file. Don't forget to cut them off before inserting the arms. You will also need to use some CA or gorilla glue to secure the arms in place.
