By Brett Turnage, BTI3D Labs has created two fully-functional 3D-printed radio-controlled motorcycles in Project Jibril: the 2016 Ducati Draxter Concept Drag Bike RC and the 2016 Suzuki GSX-RR MotoGP RC motorcycle. These bikes feature unique parts for maximum realism, including a 3D-printed functional front fork, adjustable rear suspension, and drivetrain that translates power from gears to a belt drive system which turns the rear wheel. They stay upright using a weighted front wheel as a passive gyroscope. The rider is also a 3D wonder, with a brain, backbone, and pelvis that moves in response to a super tiny ultra micro servo located in its head. This project took over five months of work and aims to inspire others with its innovation and attention to detail. Installation manual and tutorial videos are available online for those interested in recreating this amazing feat of 3D printing.
