2015+ WRX (automatic) iPhone6s & 6s+ & 7s Holder

Update 2022-02-15 I strongly advise printing this using high-quality ABS to ensure long-lasting durability, given my car was left in the sun for hours, and the outdoor temperature rose to a scorching 103F (39.4C), which caused the PLA to become extremely soft and even start deforming. Update 2022-02-15 A recent upgrade added an expanded version of this iPhone holder that can accommodate my larger iPhone 6s Plus perfectly. I carefully crafted a wider channel for the phone while including a deliberate cutout specifically for the power button, thus preventing accidental triggering. The tabs at the front have also been enlarged to make it easy to access and interact with the navigate button on popular apps like Waze that reside in hard-to-reach areas. Designed by my talented kids especially for my WRX car, this smartphone bracket integrates seamlessly into the center console when paired with a right-angle Lightning adaptor. The device was modeled to fit a phone fitted with a durable Spigen case which adds up to 9.5mm of thickness. Securely attaching it to the vehicle using strong adhesive-backed strips like 3M Command Strips makes for easy removal without leaving residue behind; alternative attachment options, such as Velcro straps, are equally effective. Initially printed in bright blue as a prototype, the final product turned out beautifully in a sleek silver finish that harmonizes with the dashboard perfectly. Instructions I use 0.2mm thick layers while printing to ensure smooth output and high definition. With three perimeter paths around every feature, infill material covering a staggering 15% of each layer creates an impressive structural framework which I find really supportive for daily wear and tear applications; also worth mentioning is the 3D model designed specifically with drippy plastics in mind since silver PLA can have its quirks in certain settings. The bracket is so elegantly designed that even though all overhangs were crafted at 45 degrees, additional supports become necessary. For newer versions such as file v7, I relied heavily on slicing configurations while making version v8 with more features like supports and brim because it does a really great job helping stabilize pieces protruding into thin air, allowing for easy cleanups and giving off a neat finished appearance after post-processing with appropriate solvents or glues according to surface specifications
