In my previous car, I found that a plastic shopping bag worked perfectly as a makeshift solution, simply by wrapping it around the shifter to keep everything secure and letting it hang down on the passenger side. However, with the shifter now located on the driver's side of my new Grand Cherokee, I had to find an alternative to hold the bag in place. To solve this problem, I came up with a clever design that would not only hold the plastic bag but also allow me to put a bottle in the cup holder on top. The result is a functional and innovative insert made specifically for my needs. When printing out the design, I used a 0.2mm layer height, an infill of 20% and included supports to make sure it would turn out right. While this version did work perfectly, I'm confident that it can be improved even further. By incorporating larger fillets into the design, support material could be eliminated altogether, resulting in a more streamlined and efficient print. When installing the insert, I found that it slid neatly into the cup holder with no fuss at all, requiring absolutely zero force to secure it firmly in place.
