2014 Ford Explorer Interceptor Shift Cup
grabcad
This guide is for owners of the 2014 Ford Explorer Interceptor looking to enhance their vehicle's interior. A printable filler can be created for the stock console shifter hole, assuming the shift column remains intact. I had a friend print mine and integrated an Arduino with NeoPixels that illuminate the text when headlights are on, using fading colors. Photos of this project will be uploaded, along with the code for those interested. Finding the correct wire in the Police harness for headlights can be challenging, but any light source can be used to illuminate the text. I filled mine with crystal clear resin. These designs are to scale, though some printers may default to metric units. This is a test print, and some minor adjustments might be necessary for a perfect fit. I initially planned this project but don't have time now that it's complete and functioning well. For reference, I used an STL cup printed by someone else, modified, re-surfaced, and added the text to create this design, which is slightly more complex than the original. Have fun experimenting with this idea.
