2013-2018 Ram 1500 iPad Mini Dash Mount
thingiverse
I used to set my iPad mini in the pull-out tray below the dash, utilizing it as a dedicated GPS on long road trips, but I grew tired of it sliding around and being so low in my line of sight, so I modified the excellent iPad mini holder by i3Dnaked to fit the change tray above the radio. It now sits perfectly above the touchscreen display, and at 5'9", it doesn't obstruct my view of the road. This is my initial design, so it's a bit rough around the edges, but it's fully functional. To assemble, simply remove the rubber tray liner, take out the two screws, insert the mount, and reattach the screws tightly. My first draft print was done at 0.3mm height and only 10% infill, yet it was strong enough to hold my iPad firmly in place, though I did print a second copy at 0.2mm with 50% infill just to make sure the screws were snug without cracking the plastic mount holes. It was sliced using Simplify3D's automatic support feature.
