2012 Honda Civic SI Ebrake button
thingiverse
I'm replacing the ebrake button on my 2012 Civic Si, and I'm using a replacement part that's specifically designed for this model. The factory original ebrake button breaks easily and costs $150 to replace - but you can only buy the entire assembly, which is a hassle. When printing this ebrake button, it's essential to use PETG instead of PLA. If you print it in PLA, there's a good chance it will melt in the summer heat. I chose 100% infill for added strength, but that might not be necessary. The replacement ebrake button comes out relatively easily from its housing - the original had a small tab on the right side of the hole that made removal simple. I haven't experimented with recreating this design yet, though. After creating my own ebrake button, I discovered another one on Thingiverse that's a more accurate recreation of the factory original. It includes a tab and hole to secure it in place better - but I'm not sure if it will be any less fragile than my version.
