2012 Escape S8 phone mount

This is a vehicle-specific phone mount tailored for the older style Ford Escape, which was manufactured up to 2012. It's designed exclusively for Samsung S8 devices, although other smartphones may fit as well. The mount secures itself on the left side of the center console and features a back tab that slips into a horizontal gap between two trim parts to keep it upright. This strategic placement ensures the phone doesn't obstruct any vehicle displays, vents, or the driver's view of the road. As an added bonus, this setup makes for a great offline GPS solution using OSM for Android devices. My only concern with this design is that prolonged exposure to sunlight might cause the phone to overheat. A white cover or shield would significantly mitigate this issue, but it's worth noting that any case would not fit within the current design parameters. If there were a redesign opportunity, incorporating more space for larger phones and cases would be greatly appreciated. Additionally, lowering the phone by about an inch might enhance overall usability.
