The Grand Silican Coupe makes its debut as the company's revival model following the shutdown of production for the VI-10. Initially built with Sketchup 8 before being converted into various other 3D formats, its native format remains .skp, while a 3ds Max 2016 scene is rendered using Vray 3.00. Once nearly bankrupt from releasing numerous units of the VI-10 that proved too costly to produce, Cobalt received a new lease on life when purchased by Japanese investors in late 2007. A complete overhaul transformed the company for years to come. Among its rebirth models stands the Grand Silican Coupe, engineered specifically for Japan's domestic market, equipped with a handcrafted 4.0 liter V8 engine producing 330 horsepower. Achieving zero to 100km/h in just under 4.7 seconds and boasting an unlimited top speed of 170mph, this coupe is designed to rival Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, and other renowned luxury car brands. Its arch-nemesis remains Mitsuoka, who employ similar design philosophies, making them a formidable opponent for Cobalt's flagship model. The Coupe is priced at RM600,340 in Malaysia under a smaller 3.0 liter engine, while prices range from JPY19,525,650 in Japan and EUR148,830 across most European countries to THB53,140,950 in Thailand.
