2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V (11/02 mfg date) Climate Control Cable Clip Retainer
thingiverse
I own a 2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V, manufactured on November 2nd of that year. The climate control head unit has developed cracks in the plastic tab holding the diverter and temperature control cables in place. To address this issue, I designed and printed custom retainers using a Kossel Mini Delta 3D printer. The retainers engage with the nose of the cable clips, securing the cable housings even when the original tabs are broken. Here are the print settings used: printer - Kossel Mini Delta; rafts - not required; supports - yes; resolution - 0.2mm; infill - 40%. It's essential to print the retainers on their side, with the nose of the clip perpendicular to the extrusion layers. This ensures the clip doesn't cut into the part and separate it between layers. After printing, I installed one of the retainers in the climate control head unit, securing the diverter cable in place. The printed parts were oriented on their side during printing to prevent any issues with the nose of the clip cutting into the part. I designed this custom retainer using Autodesk Fusion 360 and have attached the .f3d files for anyone interested in editing the design.
