When printing a Honda Civic SI (EP3) hood latch handle, use a filament that dissolves in acetone or similar solvents to avoid costly OEM replacements. After printing, sand and paint the part as needed. To attach it securely, soak the cable sleeve with solvent using an eyedropper or hypodermic needle, taking care not to over-saturate the material. Once the walls are thoroughly wetted, gently shake out any excess solvent onto a napkin. Align the handle quickly and press it firmly into place on the cable. As the solvent evaporates, the filament will fill in the grooves and attach the handle solidly. Allow several hours or days for complete evaporation and solidification before handling the part. The cable sleeve may remain weak until all acetone has flashed out of the material.
