This cover snaps onto the little piston at the bottom of your crv hatch to hold it open. My first gen CRV had one of these default but I couldn't find a similar part anywhere for my 2nd gen crv. You could prolly also make it a little longer if you like but this seems to work perfectly for mine. I hope this helps!
