With this charging dock, your smartphone can stand proudly as if it's a majestic monolith from the groundbreaking film 2001. For an unforgettable experience, add Also Sprach Zarathustra to your phone's playlist right away. This docking station is perfectly suited for iPhone 4/4s, 5/5s, 6/6s, Galaxy, LG, and similar high-tech smartphones. Inspired by "2001 Monolith" (https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model.html?id=91101b21e5e738387e949847bc839f1c) by the brilliant Max Grueter **Print Settings** * Printer: Flashforge Creator * Rafts: No, let's keep it simple * Supports: Yes, we want a solid base * Resolution: The higher, the better - precision matters! **My Print Experience** I printed "2001_TMA-1_base+Support" in ABS at 235 degrees Celsius. Unfortunately, I encountered minor warping of the base despite using a heated bed set to 110C. After removing the supports, I gave it a quick clean-up and added some vibrant acrylic paints. **Using Your Dock** To get started: insert your phone's charging cable through the designated hole in the base, then place your phone inside - perhaps during a rare planetary alignment for maximum drama! **How I Created This Masterpiece** I used Netfabb to carefully remove the glass from the astronaut's helmet, revealing their face. Next, I employed the Z cut function to reduce the height of the base. Any remaining mesh issues were resolved using 3D Builder, and supports were cleverly added with Meshmixer. **Optional Touch-Up** Want a sleek finish? Print "helmet_window.stl" in T-Glase or transparent PLA, then glue it into place - voilà!
