20 cell 6-dot braille slate & stylus
thingiverse
This braille slate and stylus set provides the tools you need for handwriting braille. The slate has four rows of 20 cells. Each cell has 6 dots. Print the slate as two separate pieces (top and base) then join at the hinge with a M3 screw. The stylus requires a 1.5mm diameter nail with small head to be inserted and glued. We also recommend filing the point of the nail before using! We have also provided a braille slate and stylus cheat sheet for writing the braille alphabet, numbers and simple punctuation using the Unified English Braille code. Note that these symbols are sufficient for labelling and signage in uncontracted (grade 1) braille. For advanced readers, use contracted (grade 2) braille. References are provided by the International Council on English braille at https://iceb.org. With thanks to Jim Smiley for design of the braille slate.
