20 & 30 deg flosstyle camera mount
thingiverse
Since my trusty GoPro met its untimely demise, I'm left to rely on this rugged Lamax X8 (a GoPro 4-like camera). Thanks to Thing:2904562 and Thing:3175503, I was able to create two custom holders for 16mm straps. After experimentation, I've determined that 20 degrees is the ideal position for freestyle enthusiasts - in my expert opinion. This angle provides a sweet spot with the fifth hole centered, allowing for a tighter fit if desired. When it comes to TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) materials, I highly recommend using washers to achieve a secure hold. However, I'm not convinced this is necessary when working with TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane). P.S. For those planning to print these holders, I strongly advise against using multiple outer shells - it will compromise the overall strength of the final product. Based on my experience, 10 bottom/top layers have yielded impressive results. To replicate that coveted flex feel, I suggest printing with less than 50% infill density. All my prints were done at a layer height of 0.16mm for optimal quality. When it comes to support material, I recommend using 2mm as depicted in the pictures - it's easily removable with tweezers.
