The Harbinger is walking around in our realm, promising a good harvest for farmers if they give him some workers and task them to make scarecrows. These scarecrows will be the last thing the workers will have do, as once its done, the Harbinger drains their soul and fuses them with the scarecrow, creating a Soul Harvester. These Soul Harvesters will stalk nearby villages, cursing the whole city with Nightmares, slowly draining their soul, and slicing anyone up that grows suspicious, anything for the master. Rodmund, is one of the farmers that were offered green crops in exchange for some of his workers. Rodmund, being desperate, agreed to this deal, since he really need a good harvest, and new workers was always possible to find. He was fine with this deal until he realised what was happening to the scarecrows and workers, then he tries to find someone who can deal with this problem, and that's where the Player characters come in. This campaign takes inspiration from the Dominions of Dread concept from the book: Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft. Morthiel the Unchained Nightmare is considered a Dark Lord from the book. Wargames These models are also perfect for Wargames! Morthiel comes on a 60mm base, the Harbinger comes on a 32mm base and the soul harvesters come on a 50mm base. Perfect for a spooky army with a Halloween theme ;) Morthiel, The Unchained Nightmare Unlike Arastacia, Morthiel is a true Graveborn, he began his unlife from the very bottom, as most do in this world. But managed to survive and consume his way to the top, growing more and more in power. There is a state between being a Graveborn and a Gravelord, where the entity starts to grow a specific taste for souls. This usually defines their whole identity, Morthiel being an entity growing a taste for fear, and for a long time, he was the most powerful Gravelord consuming fear.But no king rules forever, and Morthiel is no exception, as he was captured and imprisoned by other Gravelords. The only thing that Gravelords really want, is more power, their greed excels anything else, and they will do anything to become stronger. Morthiel found a way to feast on the fear of Mortals, by visiting them in their dreams. He was able to transform sweet dreams into terrifying nightmares, and feast from the anxiety caused by this. Prison of the Nightmare Now in his prison, Morthiel is scheming to break out. After isolation for many generations, Morthiel was finally able to spread his influence outside of his prison, manifesting a part of himself, a mere shadow. After some time, the shadow found a scarecrow in a field, and managed to use it as a vessel, being able to control this scarecrow like a puppet.  Harbinger of Nightmares Taking a liking to his new form, the Harbinger now stalks the countryside to make a deal with anyone that can create another scarecrow, so he can create more like himself to harvest souls for Morthiel. Rodmund, the Farmer Rodmund was one of the farmers unfortunate enough to cross paths with the Harbinger, being in a very desperate position he accepted the Harbingers proposal in order for the farm to survive. Rodmund was very compliant, and tasked 3 of his workers to setup a scarecrow in the field. Scarecrows As soon as they were done, all 3 of them vanished along with the scarecrow. However, his crops started growing and showing green colours. He was deligthed by the results he got for a good time, and could always find new workers, until he started to hear rumours of dark figures terrorizing nearby villages. Then his conciousness couldn't bear the guilt anymore.  Soul Harvesters Setup by farmhands, brought to life by the Harbinger. These dark beings stalk every village or town they can find, and curses the whole area as it beings to invade everyone in their sleep. Creating terrifying nightmares, planting the seed. Then when the city is ready they start to harvest the souls of the town for their Master.    Details Morthiel comes on a 60mm Base. Prison Version comes on a 32mm Base.
