I tackled this challenge with a plethora of combinations, really putting my skills to the test. My initial objective was to design a gear system that functioned without lubrication, but the temperature fluctuations during construction would result in excessive backlash and render the housing unable to withstand the torque forces. Next, I aimed to integrate a one-step worm gear with a reduction ratio of 40, utilizing a plastic gear outside the oil box. This configuration yielded a combined gear ratio of 712. However, the efficiency of the worm gear proved to be significantly higher than anticipated, at 0.26, which ultimately led to the solution's failure. I've compiled an extensive array of calculations, hoping that someone might find this information useful for their own endeavors.
