spur-gear 2-stage permeant-reduction gearbox..Gearboxes are at the heart of our modern world. Our world runs on inefficient power sources, and getting the desired output required the pioneers of the industrial age to create gearboxes. A permanent reduction is needed in every automobile. The reason for this is that the engine's output rpms (revolutions per minute) are very high. For example take any small city car with an engine of 800–1000 cc. For such an engine the max rpm at the crankshaft end will be around 3000–5000 rpm. Now if crankshaft is directly connected to the final drive then there are high chances of wheel spin and as at such high rpms the torque obtained is very low so that value of torque may be less than the minimum amount of torque required to move the vehicle. Thus a reduction gearbox is installed in between the engine and the final drive so that the higher rpms at the crankshaft end are decreased so as to increase the torque at the gearbox end and thus to move the vehicle easily. The permanent reduction gearbox can be single stage, two stage, or three stage and also can have one single reduction or variable reductions with the help of more gears, which we call three speed gearbox, four speed gearbox etc.Giving variable reductions helps to change the value of torque and speed as per the requirement.
