Use your slicer and rotate the design 180 degrees so that it prints mushroom side down. This move will significantly reduce the number of supports required. I created this part to support a boat cover contraption I came up with. The cover would sag and collect water, which is why I designed this solution. A 2-inch PVC pipe slides perfectly over the top of my table legs on my pontoon. I then used a two-way sanitary tee at the top (see pictures) and connected lashing straps that go between poles and front and back of the pontoon. This allows me to set it up and take it apart in just a couple minutes. The key part of this design... The sanitary tee is open at the top. Initially, I tried attaching foam from an extra mat with zip ties. However, it fell apart due to friction within a few weeks. To overcome this issue, I designed this part to fit snugly inside a 2-inch PVC connector (with an external diameter of 2.375 inches). It provides a smooth, convex surface for the boat cover to shift back and forth without tearing. The picture shown is just a draft print to ensure a proper fit, so the finished product looks significantly better.
