2 Liter Bottle to 1/2" PVC Pipe Adapter
thingiverse
Here are Kludgemonkey's instructions, adapted for your convenience, with the added feature of making a Bottle Cap Start compatible with a piece of 1/2" PVC pipe. I made this adaptation because I was looking for a more practical way to create a Stomp Rocket, similar to the one featured in MAKE Magazine volume 42. I took Kludgemonkey's original design and made some tweaks to fit my needs. Instead of relying on duct tape, the bottle screws onto the adapter, which attaches easily to the PVC pipe. This means that when you need to disassemble your Stomp Rocket for any reason, you can do so with ease, even if the bottle has been smashed. Now that I've explained how this adaptation works, let me provide the instructions: **Print settings:** The bottle cap adapter was printed at .3mm layer height on a single shell. My MakerBot Thing-O-Matic was running MK6+ extruder and Sailfish firmware with 3mm ABS filament from the company MakerBot. To assemble your Stomp Rocket, start by carefully removing the built-in support that's been created in the center of the adapter - a needle nose pair of pliers will do this easily. Finally, to get the bottle cap onto the PVC pipe, I simply wrapped duct tape around the PVC pipe three times, securing it snugly on the pipe.
