2" laser-fiber Collimator 90deg
thingiverse
Collimators from Thorlabs cost thousands of dollars, but we've managed to design a comparable one using a 90-degree parabolic mirror from Edmund Optics for around $500. A fiber laser's light is introduced at the focal point on one side, and parallel collimated light up to 2 inches in diameter exits the other side. Details can be seen below. The gold-coated IR mirror from Edmund Optics didn't require printing, but we decided to print it anyway, polish it with buffing compound (Blue Magic), and demonstrated its functionality using a green laser. Applying gloss spray paint could potentially make it even more reflective.
