This is a custom valance clip for a set blinds that securely holds a 2 inch piece of wood at the top. Locating a replacement clip that precisely measures 2 inches was nearly impossible or extremely costly. Several clips claim to be two inches but are actually two and a half inches. I printed in ABS as well as PLA wood, both of which appear strong enough; however, it is crucial to allow the PLA to cool down before using. Print Settings Printer: FlashForge Creator Pro Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .3 Infill: 100% Notes: You can print this with as little as 10% infill if you prefer and it will still function, but I recommend 100%. How I Designed This Design Process I began by scanning the original clip with a normal HP printer scanner. Next, I cleaned up the scan in Photoshop and inverted it. Then, I auto-traced the clean scan in Illustrator and saved the file as a DXF. After that, I imported the DXF into Blender and extruded the shape, exporting as STL. Finally, I sliced the STL with Replicator G. I printed on a FlashForge Creator Pro. Original Scan. The original clip was clear which made scanning slightly difficult.
