My friend's boat dock was missing a crucial component on one of its support pipes - a cap. I offered to craft a replacement, and my first attempt turned out to be straightforward but unremarkable. It fit perfectly, but lacked any real flair. Determined to do better, I set out to create a second cap with a more distinctive feature: a recess for attaching a solar light. After conducting a swift internet search, I discovered the precise dimensions of the pipe. The resulting fit is impressive - snug enough to ensure stability, yet easy to install and remove as needed. To make the installation process smoother and prevent any potential vacuum or pressure issues at the submerged end of the pipe, I intentionally left small gaps between the cap and the pipe. If my friend appreciates this upgrade, I plan to outfit all the dock support pipes with solar lights, transforming his dock into a radiant oasis.
