I wanted to upgrade my smart home with WiFi light switches that work seamlessly with Alexa. However, I was unhappy with the appearance of commercially available options. Since I rarely turn off the fan and it's set to medium speed, I didn't need a full-fledged fan controller. Moreover, I didn't require a dimmer switch as I use simple LED bulbs that provide adequate brightness for me. Therefore, my plan was to hardwire the fan power on and install a smart switch to control the lights' on/off function.
