I'm calling this V3.2 of the filter wheel, an upgrade from the original V3 design. I initially placed the slots for the position lock on the wrong side, but instead of reprinting the wheel, I opted to find a solution. Various hacks and ideas were tested before deciding that sometimes it's better to admit defeat and fix the issue correctly. The addition of STL and FCStd files for the new wheel is a significant improvement over previous versions. This latest design marks an evolution in user-friendliness while working in dark environments, building upon the success of V1 & V2. For now, I'm focusing on tweaking small aspects rather than embarking on a major overhaul. As a courtesy to fellow makers, I'm leaving the V1 and V2 designs available for anyone interested in experimenting with their own ideas. Feedback from users is always welcome. One of the most notable changes is the addition of a large position lock attached to one of the casings via hinges. This feature required adding four indented areas in the wheel to facilitate easier filter positioning compared to the small button on V2. A less noticeable but important modification was separating the 2" male end from its casing, allowing for thicker walls and almost complete fill while still enabling lower fill printing for the casing. In the future, I plan to revisit the design of the 2" female adapter, at which point it will also be separated from its casing. V1 and V2 were designed with very loose tolerances, but V3 features tightened specifications based on my printer's output. This may necessitate some sanding for newer parts; results may vary.
