2 Axis Rotary Table
thingiverse
A 2 Axis Rotary Table is a great starting point for creating a 5 Axis 3D printer, boasting impressive stiffness after numerous iterations that addressed bearing stiffness issues by employing pre-loaded bearings with large diameters. The table features a mix of US Standard and Metric screws and bolts, although I opted for metric-sized bolts that closely match the standard sizes, as evidenced by the similarity between 5/16" and 8mm fasteners. This 2 Axis Rotary Table utilizes NEMA 11 stepper motors to drive its mechanisms, which are further enhanced by using Thing 16627 - Parmetric Pulley - a versatile pulley design offering numerous tooth profiles, found on Thingiverse [https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:16627]. Additionally, I incorporated Thing 2682637 - Parametric Pully Belt by Vivalize [https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2682637] for creating belts. The development of this table was accomplished using Blender, and it is compatible with printer beds as small as 160mm X 150mm. The rotary table offers a circular build platform measuring 4 inches in diameter. Printing the belt in TPU material is recommended. Small screw holes measure 4-40 and 6-32, requiring tapping of threads into plastic to secure them properly.
