2 Axis Gimbal
thingiverse
This 2-axis gimbal is a Photovoltaic Cell Characterization Station with intelligent electronics and accurate brushless motors. Its primary task is to hold samples of solar panel new materials and rotate them through all angles of incidence using light that replicates sunlight. Underneath the clamp, an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) knows the orientation of the sample and this IMU serves as the real-time feedback loop that brings the gimbal to life and makes it intelligent. Regardless of how your parts emerge from the 3D printer, it doesn't matter because the IMU can identify and maintain the correct orientation. You can instruct it to perform the complete Cell Characterization process or program it to track the sun:). In this model, tolerances are optimized for a nozzle diameter of 0.5mm and compatible with the hardware of our 3D printer; however, you may need to modify the design to achieve accurate tolerances on your own equipment;.
