2 Axis Gimbal for Directional Lighting
pinshape
Human: This gimbal was engineered specifically for directional lighting, with rotation joints that print in place and bumpers added to increase friction so it stays in position once set. To adjust the friction level, simply sand down the bumpers. There are four 4mm mounting holes on the base of this gimbal, designed to accommodate a ceramic GU10 light socket with an outer diameter of 28mm. I used these particular sockets: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015OLHF34/?coliid=I1B7HFO3HLRCPP&colid=2VFGUXWPUDPWM&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it These GU10 sockets are compatible with any standard GU10 bulb. There are two versions available: one prints without supports by utilizing bridges to create floating platforms, making it easy to remove the bridges and clean the part when needed. However, be cautious when cleaning the bottom ones, as they can be slightly more challenging; I plan to revisit this design soon.
