2-axis Filament Guide
thingiverse
I experimented with various filament guides, but they all introduced unwanted force and vibration into the frame of my printer. After a brief trial period, the filament began to leave noticeable marks on the surface of the guides, prompting me to create my own custom design. Utilizing some spare 628ZZ bearings, I crafted a rolling axis and a turning axis with ease. This innovative design represents my latest iteration and is currently in use on my printer. To ensure a precise fit, I opted for zero tolerance in my design. If the axes were slightly oversized, I would carefully sand them down until they fit snugly into place. For this project, you will need two bearings with specific dimensions: an outer diameter of 24 mm, an inner diameter of 8 mm, and a height of 8 mm.
