$2.70Battery Box MK1 – 27.5mm x 127mm (~1 1/8" X 5")
myminifactory
An aircraft battery box designed for mid-size profile models made from foamboard, cardboard and/or balsa wood, with a wingspan of approximately 1 to 1.5 meters (~39 to 60 inches), is constructed. The finished compartment features a channel for a restraining strap, securing a standard 1300~1800 mHA 3-cell LiPo battery in the center of the fuselage. The parts can be easily printed on a modern 3D printer without support. Various materials such as PLA, PETG, ABS and other printable materials are suitable options. However, PLA may not be the best choice for this application due to potential warping or deformation if the battery heats up above ~55 C (~130 F). This could happen when the model is left in a parked car during summer months. In such cases, a more heat-resistant material like PETG or ABS should be used to print the battery box.
