Fine Woodworking magazine reports that the DeWalt DWE6423 captures only 52.4% of dust it generates when using its OEM filtration bag, but collects 96.1% of the dust when used with a vacuum in its Winter 2018-2019 issue #272 on pages 43-47. This adapter connects the dust port of DeWalt's random orbit sander to a standard Ridgid-type 2½" dust collection hose fitting. It fits snugly by friction on the sander side and is tapered on the 2½" hose side. At Bixby9's suggestion, I have posted a v2 of this adapter with a thicker (4mm vs 2mm) transition plate.
