UPDATE December 4th, 2015: Adjusting the stepper motor setting reduced the module's overall size for improved precision in adjustments. Tightening up the nut housing has fixed any existing issues with alignment. These modifications effectively lower the extruder ratio from 5:1 to a more optimal 2:1, allowing for a considerable increase in feed speed. The new design omits any gap between parts, meaning that slight sanding and running it in are required for seamless integration. In my case with the Mendel printer, I had to recalibrate E steps per millimeter to a precise value of 388.5 (originally set at 875 steps/mm) for perfect synchronization. The locking screw employed is an M3 size, and it fits snugly onto a NEMA 14 stepper motor for added stability.
