2 1/4 ventilation pipe splitter
thingiverse
I designed this specifically for the ShopBot Desktop's ventilation pipes, ensuring they fit snugly over the end pieces, although they are standard 2.25in pipes with an inner diameter of 2.25 inches. The prints consist of three essential components: 1.) Y Splitter: This is the main part, requiring one print per set, which serves as the foundation for the entire assembly. 2.) Y Adapter: A smaller tube used to create a channel that fits the stopper into place, necessitating one print each for the three openings. The tabs on its end are designed for precise alignment, and I highly recommend using superglue for secure bonding. 3.) Y Closer: A flat piece that closes off each pipe after the two preceding parts have been connected, requiring three prints for each opening. It's crucial to note that printing this piece demands a high level of quality, so I strongly advise against anything less than 50% infill. For optimal results, aim for 75% or even 100% infill if possible. Moreover, supports are absolutely necessary for every print; no exceptions are acceptable. To accommodate my Makerbot Replicator + printer, I had to split the print in half, leading me to create a shorter version of the Y splitter (Y Splitter sm), which I then divided into left and right models that will be connected after printing. All other components remain unchanged.
