I made this quilting ruler specifically for my wife's free-motion quilting needs and designed it with her blog at smilestooloudly.wordpress.com in mind. She uses it extensively to create orange-peel designs, which I'm still not entirely familiar with but she seems to enjoy working on them. According to her, this ruler works quite well for that purpose. The ruler features a central hole that aids in keeping it securely in place while quilting.
