2 1/2" Split Union Nut

Note: I revised this shortly after posting as the original wall was too thin at the undercut area. Additionally, I added a hex recess for a nut. This design was inspired by a similar part and driven by a need for a larger component to replace a damaged nut on my hot tub. I present here, a 2 1/2-inch split nut specifically designed for PVC piping applications. The threaded section features a pitch of 0.125 inches (or 1/8 inch). A through ID of Ø2.75 inches, an undercut area of Ø2.9 inches, and crests (major diameter) measuring around Ø3.06 inches complete this design.
