The user mentions that files ending with SK should work with Skeinforge, although they haven't been printed yet. They have removed the cone from the pin ends and replaced them with hemispheres in their ESRA Robot, which is powered by 3 Hitec servos and a mini Maestro controller. The gears of the robot include Hitec splines, and the servo action is controlled using ServoScribe software, available for free download at http://www.pattonrobotics.com. Videos of the ESRA Robot in action can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mqnbv1dBfk4 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WuLC0RcsIkw. A kit with all parts for easy assembly is available on http://www.pattonrobotics.com. The user notes that they printed the gears and eyelids slowly to achieve better quality. The parts were assembled using self-tapping 4-40 screws, and the holes on the servo plate needed to be tapped with an 8-32 bit for proper functioning of the nylon screws. An attached video provides further insight into the assembly process.
