I wanted to convert my 4xAA CREE headlamp to use an 18650 pack. The 18650s are salvaged from used laptop batteries. They are all connected in parallel, wrapped in kapton tape and then attached to a small BMS with five-amp fuse wire on both positive and negative sides. I soldered a JST male connector to the headlamps' AA + and - terminals. Then I soldered the female JST connector to the BMS. There is a small hole in the box for the cable to pass through. Using a hot soldering iron, I placed four threaded nuts (M3x4x5) into each corner hole of the bottom model. Then using small M3 screws, I screwed the top onto the base. Unfortunately, my filament spool tangled during printing so the bottom print is less than desirable; however, it remains functional and I didn't bother reprinting it. Items used: ------------------- Kapton tape can be found on eBay. M3 threaded knurl nuts are available on eBay. An 18650 battery tester is also available on eBay. A JST connector - two-pin pair - can be purchased on eBay. Five-amp fuse wire is sold on eBay. One-slash four-amperes BMS (Balance of Modules System) modules are listed on eBay. M3 screws are up for sale on eBay.
