This wooden box, designed around a 13.5 inch long spindle with a 2-inch diameter from a woodworking support stand, is perfect for housing up to four spools on its rotating assembly. However, feeding from more than one spool may be challenging due to the rotation of all the spools. My primary goal in constructing this box was to relieve myself from constantly monitoring the printer's performance. By installing a 1/4-inch plastic tube that runs from the front of the box to the printer, I achieved consistent Z-axis tension and significantly improved print uniformity. While managing filament moisture content and dust is an added feature, this setup might be overkill unless you already have the wood and spindle on hand. Additionally, a 1/4" OD x 1/8" MIP w/Insert (Lowes plumbing fitting A-22 / 968-P) threaded directly into a front hole drilled in the box secures the feed tube in place.
