1kg plastic spool adapter for the Filament Spindle MK1 Box

Do you have an outdated Filament Spindle MK1 Box collecting dust under your printer, replaced by the sleek new 1kg plastic spools that Makerbot now offers? I do too... so I embarked on designing an adapter that would enable the FSMK1B to utilize these modern spools. My situation was complicated because I had partially damaged my FSMK1B while attempting to reload it with a second batch of plastic, which was the old 5LB style. In my adapter design, I aimed to address several issues that drove me crazy about the original FSMK1B design: 1. The entire flange assembly (the circular disks holding the plastic) needed to be removed from the box to add more filament. 2. The top flange of the spindle was nearly impossible to attach securely. 3. The top flange relied on screws for attachment, rather than a convenient quick-release latch. 4. The spokes seemed somewhat fragile and were challenging to assemble together with screws.
